Overview
HEALTH MEDICO CLINICS ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal and health information. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Information we collect
We collect personal information such as your name, date of birth, contact details and Medicare number, and health information such as your medical history, medications, test results and consultation notes.
Information is collected directly from you during registration, consultations, phone calls and telehealth appointments, and — with your consent — from other treating healthcare providers.
How we use your information
Your information is used to provide you with medical care, coordinate treatment between your practitioners, process Medicare and private billing, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your health information for marketing without your explicit consent.
Disclosure of information
We may disclose your information to other healthcare providers involved in your care, pathology and imaging services, Medicare and private health insurers, and where required or authorised by law.
Where information is stored or processed using service providers located outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Storage and security
Your health record is stored in secure electronic systems with access restricted to authorised staff. We retain records for the periods required by Queensland health records legislation.
Optional AI enquiry summaries
If you choose to create an AI enquiry summary, the text you enter is sent through Lovable AI Gateway to its AI model provider. Your agreement is required before processing. Processing may occur outside Australia; the service providers’ processing and retention policies apply.
Do not include names, contact details, Medicare numbers or other identifying information. The enquiry form does not store your text in a clinic database or automatically deliver it to clinic staff. Your text and draft remain on the page until you leave or reload it. You may copy or download your reviewed draft yourself.
AI summaries can contain errors and are not medical advice, diagnosis, triage or confirmation of an appointment. Review and correct the draft before sharing it. Do not use this feature for urgent medical concerns; for emergencies call 000.
Appointment enquiry contact form
When you send the appointment enquiry contact form, we store your name, email, optional phone number, appointment preference and message in a private clinic inbox. Authorised clinic staff can read and review these enquiries and use your contact details to respond. This form does not send your information to AI.
Please avoid detailed health records, Medicare numbers and sensitive documents. This form is for non-urgent appointment enquiries, is not continuously monitored and does not confirm a booking. For medical emergencies call 000 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Access and correction
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. Requests can be made in writing to your usual clinic. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached your privacy, please contact your clinic in the first instance. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
